The 23/24 Hockey Season Begins
24/25 Season Design Discovery Begins
Just one month into the hockey season, it's already time to start planning the design theme for the next one. I kick things off by setting deadlines and sharing a spreadsheet where the creative team can input their inspiration. From there, it is narrowed down to three design directions to develop further.
24/25 Season Design Options Are Presented
Drawing from the directions we identified during discovery, I create three distinct moodboards that capture potential season designs. To keep the process engaging, each member of the creative team votes for their favorite, and we then come together to discuss and choose one direction to refine further.
24/25 Season Design Final Moodboard is Presented + Approved!
Once we chose the Kalamazoo Flare style, I expanded the moodboard with more detailed examples and clear guidelines for the design team. This enhanced moodboard includes everything from billboards and digital ads to social posts, story graphics, and individual game ads, ensuring consistency across all designs throughout the season.
24/25 Season Ticket Sales Begin
Long before the current season wraps up, we’re already rolling out the first sales materials for the upcoming hockey season!
24/25 Season Preparation
I'm in full gear preparing for the upcoming season, which demands around 1,400 individual graphics. A significant portion needs to be ready months before the season begins. This includes graphics for 32 different ticket packages, 36 game days, sponsored signage, billboards, digital ads, social media, and schedules.
During these busy months, I manage all these projects using a detailed project timeline, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. I also build and oversee the file-sharing system that keeps our team organized throughout the season.
